Accies win friendly

A strong Hamilton Accies side ran out 2-0 winners at New Douglas Park in front of a crowd of 346 on Monday evening.

Blair Currie made a couple of fine stops before Blair Alston broke the deadlock with a superb volley high into the net from around 16 yards just before the half-hour-mark.

Recent Hamilton signing Johnny Hunt added the second goal with a fine finish into the far corner seven minutes beyond half-time and sub keeper Cammy Binnie denied the hosts on a couple of occasions after that.

A number of trialists were involved and most of the players got game time, although Jordan Lowdon, James Creaney and Gareth Rodger didn’t feature. Brian Rice included the likes of George Oakley, Brian Easton and Darian MacKinnon in his starting XI.
