Summer break for GUKC

FYI GUKC breaks for the summer after the last practice of this session, which is Wednesday 28 May.

We plan do to the balloon keiko, so we won't need a coach (unless of course any can't resist), and make sure to be there if you're a student.

Also, on behalf of the committee, a huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to get involved and help the club off the ground. It's been a really great 1st year, and we should be in a better bargaining position with the university next year already, esp. with the prospect of a real club captain who can round up the troops and take us out to competitions etc.

Thanks again!! to all coaches and students.

RE: Summer break for GUKC

I will be following this thread as well as many of the other "university kendo startup club" threads with great interest. Tell us how it goes, who you got to help you, and how you secured a place. have the greatest admiration for anyone that wants to take one the inenviable task of starting a Uni Kendo Club. Its hard enough running an exsisting one. The club i am currently with has had good success in the past and good senseis from japan and donated equipment to start the club and we are still struggling.
Thanks.
